The Last Message

Guide

Digital will: the difference between legal and emotional

When people talk about wills they think of assets and notaries. But there is another, equally important part: the words and personal guidance you want to leave.

Legal will

A legal document, usually made with a notary or lawyer, that sets how assets are distributed. It has legal force and follows each country's rules.

Digital or emotional will

The messages, memories and personal instructions you want to reach specific people. It does not replace a legal will — it complements it with what no official document can say.

What it can include

  • Personal letters to children, partner, parents or friends.
  • Where important documents are kept.
  • Personal wishes and small requests.
  • Thank-yous and apologies.

How The Last Message helps

It stores your letters and delivers them only if you stop confirming you're fine: a reminder every 30 days, warnings at +2 and +3 days, then delivery.

Note: The Last Message has no legal value and does not replace a legal will.
